Convert IMG to ISO on Windows

5 Comments on Convert IMG to ISO on Windows

In order to mount an image file on VirtualBox, I needed to convert an IMG image file into an ISO format (VirtualBox does not support mounting IMG files).

With OSFMount I found a free and handy tool for this purpose. Download and install the software, then mount the IMG file you need to convert.

Right click the mounted drive and select “Save to image file…”.

Choose “RAW CD Image (*.iso)” and Voilà! You have an ISO file, which can be mounted by VirtualBox.

    Hi Err0r,

probably there is some problem because the link for the .iso gives always “403 Error. We’re sorry, but you do not have access to this page” (after login to google)…. Other downloads have the same problem too… 🙁
Maybe if you have some spare time you could also add mirrors of your downloads (maybe with mega or something similar). They could be useful in situations like this one.

    Many thanks for your work!!

    Hi,

I’m trying to create an ISO file from the “v1.02a2 ds3617xs” .IMG file for my Hyper-V server. I’ve tried this tool, but it does not seem to boot from it. Can you assist or point me in the right direction to try and get this working on Hyper-V please?

    Regards,

    Kent
